The Toronto Legacy - A Second NHL Franchise in Toronto
The Toronto Legacy is announced by Andrew Lopez
The Toronto Legacy - As per TSN.ca (read more), the Legacy Group, headed by Andrew Lopez has developed a 1 billion dollar proposal to the NHL for a new NHL franchise in the city of Toronto.
Here are some recaps:
- 30,000 seat arena with 50% of seats at $50
- Arena at downsview park (TTC accessible)
- Donating 25% of profits to charity annually
- 1 Billion in financing
The charity aspects are likely to butter up the NHL, who is surely still bitter about Jim-B’s Phoenix/Hamilton fiasco for them. With this proposal they are bringing a viable option to the NHL, with suitable cash flow and one thats “following the rules”.
Who knows if this will fly and if The Toronto Legacy will be the newest NHL Team!
